Fees

As a private billing practice, fees attract an out of pocket cost. Fees are due on the day of consultation. This applies to in- office as well as telehealth consultations. Telehealth sessions are available via COVIU. Telehealth and in- office consultations are charged at the same rate. Fees are set at, or below, the current APS Recommended Fees for the financial year, and are reviewed at the end of each financial year.

A referral is not needed to access counselling services, however it can give you access to a government rebate. Fees for some psychological services may attract a rebate through Medicare, your private Health Insurer, or other funding programs, which will reduce the out of pocket fee.

No rebates apply for supervision, and GST is applicable.

Consultations outside of office hours are charged at a higher rate. This applies to weekday appointments booked before 9am, or 5pm and later, as well as all Saturday appointments.

Medicare Rebate

A Medicare rebate may be obtainable if you are referred by your General Practitioner (GP) with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or an Eating Disorder Plan (EDP).

MHCP- After the initial 6 sessions a GP review is required to determine your eligibility for an additional 4 sessions. The number of psychological therapy sessions that eligible clients can receive using a MHP is 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

EDP- A GP or Psychiatrist review is required after every 10 sessions in order to determine your eligibility for a further 10 sessions. The number of psychological therapy sessions that eligible clients can receive using an EDP is 40 sessions over a 12- month period.

The current rebate for a session under a Better Access MHCP or an EDP is $93.35. The rebate increases if families have reached their safety net threshold.

Private Health Insurance Rebate

Most private health funds pay a rebate for Psychology fees under Extras. Health rebates vary depending on your fund and level of cover. It is advisable to check with your fund for details prior to your initial consultation.

Payment Process

Payment is required on the day of consultation. This applies to both in office and telehealth consultations. Cash, Direct Transfer, Eftpos and Credit Card (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required if you are unable to attend a consultation. Cancellation is required during business hours in order to allow sufficient time to offer the appointment time to other clients. The appointment time has been reserved specifically for you, and any missed, forgotten or late- cancelled appointments will incur a full sessional fee. No future appointments will be made until payment of cancellation fees have been made. Multiple cancellations will result in a review of appointments that have been scheduled going forward.

Please note that fees for unattended appointments are not covered by any funding schemes and therefore no rebates will apply.
